Based on feedback from Discord, the ability to disable private comments (on a per tech and/or global basis) would be a nice addition as well.

FYI, this functionality is now available on the iOS mobile app (along with Android). It should come with the new web UI in the near future as well.
Using Gorelo for iOS (v3.0.1 or newer) you can now change the default comment type in Settings > Default Conversation from private to public.
