Dynamic Location Field

Maybe if they do get some additional options they could also be improved by making use of the reported public IP addresses of an asset, determining if it is currently online at a specific location (or where it was last seen online).

Provided the site has a static address, you would add the public IP to the location information and have this checked against. Anything other than a recognised public IP could also set the location to "working remotely" or something similar.

You could also potentially then use the local IP to determine a more precise location, based on a list of subnets associated with the public IP, for specific areas of a building, or specific offices if a client uses a single internet breakout for multiple sites with MPLS or SDWAN etc.
