WinGet (Apps) Additions

Hey Team,

Any plan to allow us to add our own Winget apps? We use an Array (pun intended) of apps for our clients outside of the default ones provided.

This is already possible.

Additionally, due to certain app install behaviours, user scope vs machine scope, you may be better off adding scripts.

7-Zip by default will update the exe or msi based on the prior method.

If you want to fix your software stack and consolidate consistency, you can install just the exe version etc.

winget upgrade --id 7zip.7zip -e --source winget --scope machine --installer-type exe --silent --accept-source-agreements --accept-package-agreements

Just in case you’re not aware — you can type any WinGet App ID and click Add:

If the feature request is about adding your own apps to the catalog for easier access — then that may come in the future.

It would be great to be able to add custom apps, or even to have a space where we could suggest some (Zoom.Zoom !)
